5G Wireless Technology Will Revolutionize The Internet Content

“Data is the new Oil”, said the richest man in India who also owns a 4G telecom network there. The new age is driven by data and the transfer of it. Live one day without the internet and you will understand this, you probably won’t last the day anyway. An average smartphone user’s day starts with checking his messages just after he disables the alarm. Then the whole day is spent checking mail, uploading selfies, scrolling the news columns, video chat, streaming videos and this goes on till right before he falls asleep. A moderate user with a decent internet pack will use a minimum of 1 Gigabyte of internet data per day.

The internet keeps us all connected to the outside world. You will receive news about things within minutes after they happen. You can see a friend living in another continent using video calls. You can stream movies in the comfort of your home. You can do thousands of things with/on the internet.

All of this becomes possible because of the advancements in communication technology. A good data transfer speed is necessary to enjoy the internet as it is. Buffering videos are equal to slow death for most users, and a video call over a poor network will surely be tormenting. Understanding the need for more and more faster networks, researchers and communication engineers are working their best to make the transfer of data faster.

The current fastest widely used technology is 4G LTE, where LTE stands for Long Term Evolution. It came after the slow 2G network and the faster (yet slower when we look back) 3G network. In most places, 4G costs the same as 3G and is thus a no-brainer upgrade. The speeds are much better, and anyone making a shift will feel it. A 4G supporting device is needed for it, and a majority of the devices still have the 3G SIM slots. This is the only barrier that stands between 4G and the world. Theoretically, 4G LTE offers speeds of about 150 Mbps. That’s a 500MB file downloaded in under 5 minutes. Along with 4G LTE came another technology called VoLTE which stands for Voice over LTE. Using this technology, voice calls were made using the internet. As this gets implemented, users can make calls and not pay extra for that. The calls had high quality and low noise.

Even though 4G is yet to reach most places, the research, and development for the fifth generation (5G) is already in full swing. This article will be focussed on 5G Wireless Technology.
What is 5G Wireless Technology?
5G is the acronym given to the fifth generation standard in Internet connectivity and communication. It came after 2G, 3G, 4G LTE and 4G LTE-A. The first basic chip design to support 5G was accomplished by the American chip manufacturer, Qualcomm in October 2016.

The basic targets for 5G are higher speeds and lower power consumption. The main aim of 5G Wireless technology is to make the Internet Of Things (IoT) better.

The Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance, an association of mobile operators is the deciding authority when it comes to 5G. They have decided that for the success of 5G, it must be launched by 2020 and companies have invested heavily in making this happen. New processors, basebands, and other chips need to be developed and implemented in the new mobile devices to support 5G wireless technology.

The Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance has also defined the requirements for the 5G standards. They are as follows:

Data rates of ten megabits per second for ten thousand users

Data rates of 100 megabits per second for metros

Hundreds of thousands of connections at a time for devices

Lower infrastructure costs

Improved Spectral efficiency

More supported devices

Better coverage

Reduced latency
Extensive research is still going on in this field, and two chipset manufacturers are on the front line. The American chipset manufacturer Qualcomm and the Chinese giant Huawei.
5G wireless technology will use the millimeter wave bands (20 – 60 GHz bands) so as to create a wide bandwidth for radio channels to support data speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s.
Qualcomm 5G: Qualcomm was the first company in the world to announce a chipset that supports 5G. It announced the Snapdragon X50 back in October 2016, the first-ever commercial 5G chipset. It operates the 28 GHz band along with 800 MHz bandwidth support. It can support a maximum download speed of up to 35.46 gigabits per second.
Huawei 5G: Along with M1, another telecommunications giant, Huawei has been testing chipsets running on 5G technology. On January 2017, they conducted a lab trial where they achieved speeds of 35 Gbps using the 73GHz band. On February 2017, Huawei was able to clear the performance tests of 5G radio signals in the 3.5 GHz band.
5G Wireless Technology Will Revolutionize The Internet Content
On every generation of communication, we can see the Internet content changing. When it was the age of the 2G, text ruled the internet. Applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Orkut was popular back then. Images were also used but watching a video over a 2G network was a real pain.

When 3G came people started watching videos and using images extensively
The speeds were much better when compared with 2G, and more and more people started using the internet on their mobile phones. The advent of smartphones was only possible because of the improved state of connectivity.

Then came 4G, the era of videos and GIFs. People can now watch videos without buffering, and the content gets loaded instantaneously. Streaming also became popular, and people now watch live TV, sports matches, Movies via online streaming. Moreover, 4G is affordable now. Unlike 3G which was too costly for a large population when it was released.

When 5G Wireless Technology gets released, it will change the whole of the internet. Videos will become the standard and people will refrain from using the images as media. Video calls will take over voice calls, and new ways of communication could get established. Holograms can get advanced and famous. A hologram is a 3D projection of any object.

The 5G wireless technology is expected to bring in a revolution in the field of Internet Of Things (IoT). IoT refers to interconnecting all kinds of devices via the internet. Devices in a home, on the road, inside vehicles can be connected and controlled remotely. TV, speaker system, High-speed data transfer is necessary to achieve this and 5G is the answer to that.

Maybe teleportation will become possible and it will make use of the high-speed 5G Wireless technology to transfer people and objects from one point to another. Anything is possible if high-speed connectivity is available for it.
Conclusion
With just three years left for the launch of the first 5G chipsets, manufacturers must be spending billions of dollars on its development. This is a highly important area and could affect the lives of billions of people. An affordable high-speed internet connectivity having speeds in the Gbps range will change the whole landscape of the internet. The fact that all of this will happen in our lifetime is something both exciting and exhilarating. We are definitely living in a golden era, an era where data is the oil.

WebVR is The Future Virtual Reality Content For Browser

What is WebVR?

According to WebVR.info, in simple terms, “WebVR is an open standard that makes it possible to experience VR (virtual reality) in your browser. The goal is to make it easier for everyone to get into VR experiences, no matter what device you have”.
It simply helps run your VR supported devices so that you get to experience VR easily. The WebVR has been made to provide help in uncovering Virtual reality equipment. Supposedly, if you own a pair of VR devices such as Oculus Rift or another head mount VR device, then WebVR acts as a medium for those devices to be able to get to display the Virtual Reality content on various VR apps. What WebVR does is that it helps enable the developers to translate the VR content in terms of its information movement, position and more so into real time 3D movement that lets you get a great experience of the VR content on the apps.
The best part about WebVR is that it does not restrict you to a certain application but has numerous very interesting uses. These application"s usages range from providing high-level interactive training apps for one person games and give virtual product tours as well.
To start your VR experience, the WebVR interfaces are the first and foremost things that help create a connection between your VR headset device and your computer. Since it is a browser for helping run VR content, its interfaces such as VRDisplay, VRDisplayCapabilities, VRPose, VRFieldOFView and more help receive the necessary components of the data needed to run the VR content.
Once the VR device and computer are connected, it’s the WebVR interface called VRDisplay that helps represent the devices that are attached such as the Headset, the Position sensor camera etc. If one wishes to run WebVR for their VR content, firstly you need to check the latest browser support if your browser and device can be compatible with WebVR. Some examples of the devices WebVR can be used are - Mobile phones, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. When using Oculus Rift, make sure is it not with Mac or Linux based operating system as Oculus does not support them both.

WebVR Samples

These samples are basically web pages that are, if supported by your web browser for WebVR, will run the VR to give you the VR experience without even the headsets, which is apparently the main aim of WebVR – to give you a VR experience without being bound to your VR headsets, get VR exposure and real time experience at any mobile device through any headset, with any compatible web browser.

Some of the WebVR examples are:

https://aframe.io/, this is the best version.

http://drawvr.com/
https://react.rocks/tag/WebVR
https://github.com/toji/WebVR-samples
These links shall directly take you to the best samples for viewing WebVR live in action, how WebVR actually works and the basic idea behind it. The samples can be polyfill or source. The github.com link shall also take you to the HTML concepts of these WebVR pages which might be of help for WebVR enthusiasts. The react.rocks link shall get you to 6 types of examples for WebVR. Whereas the drawvr.com link will be a direct view of a live action WebVR that you can experience in 3D just by scrolling your mouse pointer.

WebVR and Three JS

To represent your 3D graphics work on a web browser for easy access to users of VR, Three.js acts as a cross-browser. A cross browser that is made in JavaScript API, Three.js helps users create as well as display their 3D graphics work on web browsers. Where a cross browser is a browser type that helps websites, web apps, client side scripts and HTML concepts to be supported by all sorts of web browsers in order to help them run and be used by the layman user.
WebVR will help create a responsive platform for VR on the web and to bring it to reality, WebVR boilerplate is the answer. The WebVR boilerplate shall help work out VR content not just on VR headsets but also for other platforms. In basic terms, it will help people move beyond the usage of VR headsets to experience VR. Sounds interesting? Apparently, it is, as WebVR boilerplate is a Three.js based initiation point specifically made for cross-platform browsers where web-based VR is compatible. While the WebVR boilerplate is based on the Three.js project, it also relies heavily on polyfills for WebVR.
Polyfills are code standard or detectors for certain Javascript API that are expected to be present in the code for WebVR. Polyfills provide VR support if the WebVR API is not present. It uses WebVR UI to render the UI and let you get VR content on your screen. As a WebVR boilerplate by Three.js, visit https://github.com/borismus/webvr-boilerplate to learn more. To start the process, simply clone this repository. This boilerplate is available via NPM which is an easy install.
So basically it’s the WebVR boilerplate project, as initiated by Github, that will make using and easily making immense VR experiences that can be easily run on different types of VR hardware – be it a cardboard headsets, or the Oculus rift or more. The boilerplate project as divided into two parts starts with WebVR polyfill – which in simple terms is great for running VR content even without the use of VR headsets and it is easy to be installed.
As we told you polyfills are codes. They replace certain API that helps you view VR content even without the VR hardware. In order to use WebVR on 3 platforms that are –VR Headsets, Smart Phones and PCs. A different set of polyfill is to be used in the HTML concept when making a WebVR for these platforms.
Since you would be accessing VR experience on PC via keyboard and mouse, use the code or polyfill “MouseKeyboardPositionSensorVRDevice” to get an orientation to access.
Similarly, for mobile devices, it’s the device itself that we use for accessing the content, use code/polyfill “GyroPositionSensorVRDevice” to get run the WebVR. Last but not the least, for VR headset usage, to get a complete view of the VR as if you are in a real time field, use code “CardboardHMDDevice”.
So how are these connected to Three.js? Apparently, these are run on three.js plugins – VRControls.js and VREffect.js specifically build for WebVR API.
Moving on from polyfills, next comes the complete manager – the WebVR Manager. This takes care of the compatibility part of the WebVR. It manages iconography and the transition of content from in and out of VR mode.
The best feature we liked of the WebVR manager is the orientation lock system that allows the screen to be in landscape while the phone screen is on for the VR to play without obstruction.
To give one more clear aspect on how WebVR Boilerplate works, here are some links that shall direct you straight to the point of what we are talking about and how it is helping change the VR scenario in the Web.

https://mozvr.com/#showcase

http://borismus.github.io/sechelt/
With this link posted by an enthusiast for web browsers like Chrome, get prepared to be amazed by the stunning soothing view this VR is offering here. Click on the link, move your mouse pointer and see for yourself.

How Does WebVR work?

Since the WebVR, if talking honestly, is still in a stage of experimentation that does not mean that enthusiastic coders cannot work on this platform to develop their VR apps that have web compatibility.
For WebVR work, the first thing one needs is a VR headset and hardware that is compatible with your computer. Check compatibility with WebVR setup as well. Make sure there is a dedicated GPU as this helps ensure a smooth functioning.
Second important thing to work on WebVR is to get installed Firefox Nightly (developer edition) https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/android/ with the WebVR enabler add-on which helps establish the basic requirements for a WebVR environment. Now visit the MozVR project to test out your setup.
The hardware includes and talks of a position sensor, as talked about earlier. In case you are missing that, do not worry as an inexpensive option which would be using your mobile smartphone for the VR headset. But the catch here is, one might have to use data orientation API instead to run the orientation data by faking it with the data orientation API.
The basic idea behind boilerplates is that it helps you judge if the content is worth wearing your VR headset. As the VR headsets are a hassle to put on and even if not that, most people do not own VR headsets hence these previews help judge the content and give a different experience.
For WebVR to check VR and headset compatibility are important. WebVR is supported by various browsers but you have to check whether these browsers supports VR headsets such as Oculus Rift and HTV Vive that work great with WebVR.

Amazon Go Shopping Technology Just Grab And Go

In the old time there is a tradition of going to market for different products, then came the trend of the provisional store where a shopkeeper sold multiple products with the limited choices, you had to keep shouting your voice to get the products. Definitely, this is very tiring and time-consuming, no option to compare between two products. Then came the trend of supermarkets where you could roam around in the shop which is bigger in size to see things kept on the shelf. Hundreds variety of a particular thing were displayed on the shelf, you can keep pushing your cart to see products, comparing them with each other, putting things in the cart, finally going to the checkout. The checkout scanning process is not an easy task also, you need to count cash or give credit card again takes few minutes. Finally, you get to leave.
The long line waiting at the checkout is troublesome and time-consuming. Therefore, the online shopping magically happened as an alternative solution, this gave you the easy access of browsing the products all around the world and being delivered to your door. But you needed to pay extra for the delivery charges, you can not get fresh grocery from the online shopping. What is missing here is the self-inspection of the product, etc.

Amazon company innovates with a new Amazon Go Shopping Technology recently, where it eliminates the need of checkouts and changing the face of shopping industry. No more standing in lines, no more waiting to get the things scanned, no more irritating staffs, no more hassles, simply walk into the store and grab your grocery.
Amazon Go Shopping will be in the market in early 2017, the beta version of this marketplace will be in Seattle, all the shortcomings will be watched, rectified, and new features will be added if required to the existing technology. It will the fully launch itself across the world in the near future. This will take away all the annoying experiences a customer has when visiting the store.

There might be few questions that everyone must be having about this unique store and the Amazon Go Technology, we answer them all below.

What is this Amazon Go Shopping?

Amazon Go Shopping is the new way of shopping introduced by Amazon where the users can simply use their smart devices on which they have the Amazon go app installed to enter the Amazon Go store and shop like you do in any general market or a mall. Pick up things and just leave without having to stand in the queue for checkout like you do in the traditional shopping malls. Pay for the products you chose through the app, it auto calculates whatever you chose and displays a bill.

How does Amazon Go shopping work?

The Amazon calls its technology as “Walk Out Technology”, it is the combination of Computer Vision, Sensor Fusion, and Deep Learning algorithms, this is the same set of technology that is used in the self-driving cars. A step-wise working of the Amazon Go Shopping experience.
STEP1- Walk in the Amazon Go store, swipe the Amazon Go store app on the sensors at the entry point which link and activate the virtual cart as you shop.
STEP2- Once you have entered the store, simply pick up the products you want, the computer will sense your face when you take the product, it will add that product to your cart. If you do not like what you took simply keep the product back to the shelf and the product will be discarded from your virtual cart.
STEP3- Once you have done the shopping and feel there is nothing more you want to add to the cart. Simply walk out of the door, once you do that the sensors at the door will indicate the app to exit you, your app starts to charge you with a credit card linked to it.
It is that simple, you do not have to do anything. Simply walk into the store, pick up the products and walk out. This is the new solution to the hassle-free shopping experience.

How big is the store?

Amazon is planning to open the stores at a retail space of 1800 Square feet. This will allow the customers to shop easily and quickly, The first beta version of the Amazon Go store is going to be a brick and mortar store in Seattle. This is the first store that Amazon is opening, and later on, it will be opening the stores in another part of the country. Amazon is expected to open up around 2000 grocery and convenience store in the United States.

What does it sell?

Amazon will be selling almost everything like from fresh made breakfast, lunch, dinner to Grocery essentials like milk, bread, chocolates, Grains, eggs, jams, cereals, spices, whatever you think of finding in a general grocery store.

How did Amazon come up with the idea?

Amazon is a pioneer of online shopping to the world. And the people at Amazon thought why not to push the boundaries of technology a bit more to create something amazing and something that people could only imagine. Hence by using the technology of computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning the walk out technology was brought to life. This Amazon Go Technology almost took four years to come to life and is still in the beta version.

Amazon Go Technology Advantages?

The Amazon Go biggest difference is a feedback system on how people shop, what they are looking for, etc. Getting feedbacks from the customer base is a tough task for the companies to increase their sales. Also, the companies will be able to get an actual figure of their sales and know who their loyal customers are through the Amazon app, they might also be able to give special discount to keep them happy as a token of thank you.

This technology will also be able to link the products to the customers. When a customer changes from one brand to another brand, it will be easy for the brand owners to recognize their competitors, analyze their strategies to where they are falling short.

What is the downside of this technology?

A. Few of the disadvantages of this technology can be the product that is picked once gets added to your virtual cart, but when a customer decides not to buy the product and places the product on the wrong shelf, it might not get discarded from the virtual cart.
B. Another problem that the customers can face is supposed a customer had placed the product on the wrong shelf and other customer picked it from the shelf so he might get charged for the wrong product.
C. Products like vegetable need to be weighted so there won"t be any mechanism to find out how much did a customer take the particular thing in.
D. It will take away the employment of many.

Bottom Line

To conclude, this is a technology that will change the way people prefer to shop, though it is starting only in Seattle which is in the testing mode, it is for sure one event that people will be eagerly waiting for. It is also said that the stealing of the retail goods will also be minimized as you can not enter the store without scanning your smart device. So even if someone manages to steal something at the exit, but they will be charged in the app. There are way more cameras that we are thinking of, more sensors will be used to calculate everything, so the chances to fool the technology is impossible. Amazon Go Shopping is the Future.

Happy Shopping!!!

Snapchat Augmented Reality Future Secret Growth Plans

What is Snapchat?

Snapchat has been in the market for a while known as sending, receiving fun video and photo which get self-destructed after its receiver views the message. It was made public in the year 2011 Snapchat was created by Evan Thomas Spiegel who is the Co-Founder and CEO of Snapchat. It was created when they were studying at Stanford University. They initially named the company on the name of the product itself but later got it changed to Snap Inc.
The initial idea was taken from the concept of “PICABOO” that is being visible for a short period, then get vanished. The reason for picking this concept was to create a natural flow of chat like in person. This Picaboo app was first available only for the iOS system. Because of its temporary nature, it became slowly popular amongst the people. In the year 2012, the Snapchat app was made available for the Android market too. In a survey in May 2014, the users were sending over 700 million snaps in a single day.

What is Augmented Reality?

Augmented reality means combining the world of computer and the users in the real world. That means superimposing the graphic of the computer world on the view of the user of the reality. You have seen augmented reality at many places most common is seeing the cricket scores while you see the cricket match. The augmented reality works in real time without any delay. It adds the computer vision with the object recognition, so as the surrounding information of the real world becomes interactive. Just imagine what if on the construction site you look at the structure of a building, there is an overlapping image of the actual work that is to be taken place in the building, this will allow you to imagine a better future scenario of the real world would look like. Another example for better understanding can be the technology used by the aircraft plans, the actual image gets interactive with the computer graphics, during the landing, the pathway and the graphics get combined to indicate the pilot with the actual ground realities for a better landing.
Snapchat Augmented Reality Future Secret Growth

As the technology is progressing by leaps and bounds, so is the social media industry, all the leading players in the industry are in the race to contribute and acquire this new technology. Snapchat has made its step into Augmented reality by acquiring the Israeli augmented reality start-up called the Cimagine Media. Cimagine Media is an organization that is into software development. It was initially working with a furniture company where the consumers could see what the furniture would look like if they place it in the location they desire to.
Snapchat was already in the business by using the AR technology for the lenses where it used to capture the face of the user and help it turn into an animal or a vomiting rainbow face. Snapchat has not only undergone one acquisition but has undertaken many acquisitions this year like the Bitstrips.com that excels in the field of making custom emojis and many others.
The secret future plans of Snapchat Augmented Reality is assumed to be as follows:
A. Stickers sponsored by big brands

Snapchat might think of bringing in the sponsored stickers option to promote the ads. Promotion with the augmented reality option will be a great way to give greater hemispheres to the advertising world. It will be possible for the users to put the stickers on the particular object; with the help of geo-filtering, it will be possible to track the movement of the object around in the video. In present version snapchat allows the users to put emojis and stickers on their video and images, but they cannot move along with the object, but this will be possible with the augmented reality version. We are ready to see the new twist to 3V advertising.

B. Snapchat introducing Groups

This can be yet another exciting feature that can be added to the snapchat augmented reality. Grouping is something that gives the happy feature to its users. All the leading social media platforms give you the option to have groups where you can send a single message once at the same time to all people. At times it becomes very difficult for the users to search for the contact scrolling through the entire list searching for those people whom they want to send the message to.
This will not only benefit the users but will also be beneficial for the snapchat, as well as for the AD companies. In between the video the ads API upgrade can be used to show and target more Ads with the help of lenses and the geo-filter. This will allow for the better placement of Ads, the companies will earn more from this. The audience will be targeted and the snapchat will benefit from the both sides. The users will be happy for providing the group feature, the AD agencies will be happy for a better rate of exposure from the application.

C. Image Recognition helping E-Commerce

Snapchat recognizes many things as of now, but with the Snapchat Augmented reality, it is entirely possible that Snapchat would also be working on image recognition. The main earning source of Snapchat is through ads hence we can expect logo recognition to be one of the options used for promoting a particular brand. Once a user scans a logo and uses in the video targeted coupon discount to the used can be given for the video. If talking further about Snapchat, it is quite possible that it will be picking up the option of image recognition in the visual search that is it can identify objects related to a particular brand like it is done for the visual search for shopping. So basically we can say that we are looking forward to a new experience of image recognition for ad targeting

D. 360 Videos, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality

As the technology is on the boom, augmented reality and virtual reality is something that the users are looking forward to. Except for the Augmented Reality options, Snapchat might also come up with 360 videos where the users will be able to experience the 360 videos in Virtual Reality. As the social media platform like Facebook and Instagram are promoting live video options, it is quite possible that Snapchat will also be coming with the same choices to the market in the coming days. People will be able to shoot 360-degree videos, collaborate those videos with the augmented reality, play with the graphical digital objects in the real-time video shooting to turn them into fun videos.

E. Snapchat Analytics

Snapchat might be thinking of bringing in analytical tools to the new system because as of now all the leading social media platforms have such analytical tools which help the organization to understand, calculate their performance in the market amongst the people. To understand the count of their followers with the new advancement in technology, Snapchat will also be coming up with tools which will help the brands, organizations to analyze their performance on the social platform. The parameters that might be included in this format can be "my story", "view", "screenshots are taken" if the complete video was watched, the "bounds back ratio" etc. Right now snapshot doesn"t tell you the bounce back rate of a particular video, but with the augmented reality Snapchat will be able to tell the bounce back ratio of the users.

F. “Local Stories” or “GeoStories.”

Local stories or Geo story seem to be yet another exciting features that Snapchat has to offer. You will be able to post videos taken on a particular location which will stay live for the next 24 hours. Imagine that you are going on a trip, you are able to view the videos that were shot and posted in the 5-kilometer radius of your location. You will be able to know what are the exciting places, what are the things that the other users are doing, what are the things that you can plan out for your trip. Other social media platforms are somehow providing the same features, but it would be rather more exciting to have a video shot of a particular place than just a status or a photograph.
Bottom line

Snapchat Augmented Reality can prove to be the next social media trend in the world of Technology it will be a much-awaited technology that the people would like to use in the form of an application.
